Xprog-M V5.55 Programmer is a specialized, bench-mode programmer essential for automotive electronics repair. While tools like the KTAG focus on engine tuning, the Xprog-M is the "go-to" for deeper surgical work on microcontrollers (MCUs) and EEPROMs, particularly for BMW CAS4 decryption, airbag resetting, and instrument cluster repair.
It performs deep-level reading and writing of Microcontrollers (MCUs), EEPROMs, and Flash memory found in critical vehicle modules like ECUs, Immobilizers, Dashboards, and Airbag units.
Deep Chip Access: Supports reading/writing/erasing of Motorola (Freescale) 68HC05, 68HC08, 68HC11, and 68HC(S)12 families. These are the "brains" of many dashboard and IMMO modules.
BMW Security Specialist: Specifically authorized for BMW EWS3 and CAS4, making it indispensable for European car specialists.
Airbag & Dashboard Repair: Used to clear "Crash Data" from airbag modules and for mileage synchronization in instrument clusters (National CR16, ST M35080).
Bypass Security: Many authorizations (like AUTH-0018) allow the tool to bypass the security bits on secured MCUs to read data that other programmers cannot access.
| Feature | Details |
| Software Version | V5.55 |
| Interface | USB (Com-port emulation) |
| Operating System | Optimized for Windows XP / Windows 7 (32-bit) |
| Supported Brands | Motorola, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Texas Instruments, ST |
| Functionality | EEPROM/MCU Read, Write, Erase, and Verify |
Because Xprog-M V5.55 is a sensitive tool, users must follow these "Golden Rules" to avoid damaging the hardware:
OS Requirement: Best used on Windows 7 (32-bit). It is notoriously difficult to stabilize on Windows 10/11.
No Internet: The software must be used with the Internet Disconnected. If it tries to update automatically, it can "brick" the internal firmware of the box.
Anti-Virus: Always disable Anti-Virus software, as it often identifies the Xprog "crack" or "loader" as a false positive and deletes the startup file.
Registry First: You must run the .reg file included on the CD before opening the software for the first time.
